The Perfect Christmas Gift

During the Christmas peak it’s sometimes easy to forget how important sending and receiving flowers can be to our customers. With florist shops dealing with an increase in demand and high customer footfall, a little of the spirit of the festive season can be obscured by the need to remain organised arranging deliveries and collections.

The sentiments conveyed by sending someone flowers can mean a lot more than just “Best Wishes at Christmas” as the following email received by eFlorists busy call center illustrates:

"I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the exquisite arrangement you sent to my friend for Christmas and I received the following note from her:"

“Thank you so much. I was crying so much about Stuart again when the doorbell rang. I just cannot believe what you have gone and done girl! I am gob smacked and so blown away at the beautiful flowers with orchids in them, they are now a centre piece on the mantel. You break my heart with so much love.

They came just in time when I was feeling so low.

I AM UTTERLY BLOWN AWAY. YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you.
Love, Amy”

“The delivery person must have seen the look on her face which would have been priceless! Thank you again, I will definitely be using your services in the future and recommending you to others.

I so appreciate your kindness… this girl lost her fiancé to cancer 2 years ago and I am not sure if she will ever get over it. These flowers helped to ease her pain.

Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year yourselves!”

The sender had composed the message card as being from the recipient’s fiancé, it was an uplifting and emotional message that clearly brought a great deal of joy and happiness to her bereaved friend.

This is a poignant reminder that though we are all in the flower “business” what we are really involved in is communicating emotion, of being that bridge between people who are apart and wish to convey their feelings for each other, be it happiness, sympathy, encouragement or letting others know that they are not alone and always in our thoughts. Flowers, beyond being a mere “product” convey these emotions perfectly.

In this instance the florist who created the “exquisite arrangement” – Bloomers Florists of Kingsbridge – has perfectly conveyed the sentiment of the occasion, ensuring that all of the good will and emotion of the message and of the Christmas season were perfectly captured in their flowers.
