the eFlorist 'front line'

This is a quick peek into the lovely people on the end of the phones at HQ. We are more than just voices who ask for shop ID’s and ask you to make impossible deliveries 10 minutes before you close. Surprisingly it turns out that some of us actually have personalities. The over-worked and under-paid staff of the eFlorist contact centre are split into two teams, The Contact Support Team and the Customer Service Team.

So here is the lowdown on the people you speak to regularly. First up is the Contact Support team:

Chris Blunt
Hard rocking Chris is the team leader. When not playing guitar with his popular band, he’s working hard managing the Contact Support team (Don’t worry, no-one here really knows what a ‘contact support’ team does either!) Chris also doubles-up as one half of the technical support duo.

Debbie Dodds
I’ve been told that Debbie is the the office moaner but as she makes me cups of coffee on a daily basis, I can safely report that Debbie does nothing but spread love and joy throughout the department. She’s also does a remarkable job and looks extremely young for her age. Mine’s a cup of black with no sugar if you’re reading this Debbs.

Karen Thompson
Until very recently, chatty Karen used to be a blonde. Not that you could ever tell from talking to her! Bubbly in personality, Karen keeps our spirits up with her random sing-out-loud moments. Maybe the hair dye has had more of an effect than we thought.

Kerry Hurst
Kerry used to be florist which means technically she is the only person on the department who knows what she is talking about. As with any good florist, Kerry has an eye for details which is applied to her work and also the rather exact process of making her a cup of tea. Kerry’s high standards mean that she has to make her own tea and also acts as a convenient excuse to never make tea or coffee for anyone else.

Sarah Clark
Young Sarah is a keen cake baker and the office serves as her guinea pigs for her more experimental cakes. Sunglasses are needed with Sarah’s signature fairy cakes because of the intensely bright colours used. On the plus side, the E-numbers provided from the food colouring keep energy levels high in the department.

Sally Young
Mild mannered Sally is the gentle voice of reason whilst on the telephone but put her within 20 yards of a clothes shop and Sally starts to change...

Here’s the other half of the department, the Customer Service team:

Sam Collins
Team Leader Sam is one of our veterans and loves to talk about the ‘the good old days’. At great lengths if you let her! Having Nijam and I in her team, as well as two pet cats at home, ensures that Sam never gets a moments rest

Wes Harrigan
Ever smiley Wes is one half of our technical support team and is the man many of you have dealt with to update your PC’s and get eflorist running smoother. This is a job well suited to Wes who really loves his computers. Until recently, Wes only spoke in bursts of binary code and describes human emotions as “a distraction”.

Nijam Ali
Firm but fair Nijam is the youngest member of our team but what he lacks in age he makes up in confidence. Nijam tells me that despite his many attributes, he is (amazingly) still single so place an order now for your chance to win a date with our very own eflorist Prince Charming.

Kelly Wyatt
Having previously left eFlorist (Or Teleflorist back then) for pasture’s new , it seems that Kelly is a glutton for punishment and has come back to eflorist for more of the same. Kelly has quickly settled back into the team.

Paul Rushforth
Known in business circles as ‘God’s Gift to eflorist’, Paul is suave, sophisticated and the most accomplished of the Contact Centre. Whilst ladies want him and men want to be him, Paul still finds time to help the elderly, nurse sick children and is currently working on peace in the Middle East. 10 points for guessing who wrote this blog.

Dot Dowling
Another one of our veterans, Dot is the grandmother we all wish we had when we were kids. In between stories about the war and family nights huddled around the wireless, Dot is a fountain of knowledge on all things international.

Sally Parker and Emily Farmery
Newcomers Sally and Emily have been learning the ropes the hard way. Both joined shortly before Christmas 2009 and seemed to have survived their baptism by fire. Both seemed far more relaxed now that it has got a little quieter. The rest of us haven’t thought to mention what Valentine’s will be like...

And last but not least:
Andy Grant
Andy is our sharply dressed departmental manager. Andy provides leadership and guidance to our merry team. He has a freakish memory for numbers but we’ve yet to actually find a use for this unusual talent. Andy has a heart of gold and is all smiles. Unless you ask for a pay-rise.
