The festival of Corpus Christi (Latin for ‘The Body of Christ’) is celebrated by Roman Catholics and Christians, proclaiming the transubstantiation of bread and wine in to the body of Christ during Mass.

Every year on the eve of Corpus Christi Arundel Cathedral celebrates the festival by displaying a glorious carpet of flowers in the central aisle of the Cathedral itself. The event attracts thousands of people every year.

This year the Carpet of Flowers will be open to the public on:
Wednesday 6th June from 9.30am to 8.00pm
Thursday 7th June from 9.30am until Mass at 5.30pm, followed by a procession at 6.30pm to Arundel Castle
Admission is free

You can also see the carpet being laid on Tuesday 5th June after the 10.00am Mass until it’s completed at around 5.00pm.
