Originating from the USA, Grandparent's Day primary purpose was to educate the younger generation about the valuable contribution their elders had made throughout history.

So whether you have a Grandparent or not, this Sunday is simply a day to show your appreciation and to give thanks to those special people in your life who have been your constant support and inspiration.

Sending flowers is a wonderful way to show someone how much you appreciate them and to give thanks for everything that they do no matter how big or small it may be. As Grandparent's Day is not as widely celebrated as say Mother’s Day or Father’s Day, it will be a day you can be sure to surprise and delight someone special with an unexpected gift of flowers.

So how do you go about choosing an appropriate flower gift? Well, things to consider are of course their favourite flowers, colours and home décor, but just as important is their environment. For those with a garden you might like to consider a flowering plant, if they are living at home then pretty much anything goes but if they are in hospital or in shared accommodation of some kind, then you might be better off with an aqua-pack bouquet that doesn’t require a vase or a flower arrangement which will either come with a vase, container or flower basket.
