Joe Bell’s take on the Photoshoot

Joe Bell started with eFlorist as a Marketing Executive in September. Almost before he knew it, he was seconded for four weeks to an eFlorist photoshoot. Having been ensconced in a barn in Durley for three weeks, Jo gave his comments on his first big project for eFlorist.

Joe said that the first week flew by and went really smoothly, “We were shooting the Sympathy range and I guess it was all fairly plain sailing.”

By week three, the Designer Collection was in full swing. “My main focus has been to decipher the product code and match it with the design being shot. Then to list all the products used i.e. x 3 Anastasia Bloom Chrysanthemum with the designer and add any hints and tips they have.” comments Joe, “My mind was awash with strange flower names and floristry terms.”

“It’s quite a strange, almost solitary existence as I have been the barn – read studio here – just with the photographer Charlie who luckily I do get on with well. In the office I’m one of 5 and they’re all girls so you can imagine the difference.”

Joe emerges from the studio every so often like a Chilean miner in his sunglasses. “There’s no natural light in the studio as it’s blacked out for the photoshoot with lots of photography lights on and flashes going off.”

We asked Joe how many flowers he recognised now. He says he’s learnt to match many flower names with the actual flowers now!
